Self-Aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a spherical raceway located in the outer ring, and two deep raceway grooves in the inner ring. The raceway in the outer ring along with the two rows of balls helps to work over a vast range of contact angles.
These bearings align themselves accurately with the shaft and assembly without causing tension on the rest of the bearing assembly.
