Product Description
The B205 one way clutch is a crucial mechanical component widely used in various industrial applications1.
- Basic Structure: It typically consists of an outer race, an inner race, a cage and wedges. The cage keeps the wedges in a position that allows them to function properly.
- Working Principle
- Freewheeling State: When the inner race is fixed and the outer race rotates counterclockwise, the wedges do not lock, and the outer race can rotate freely.
- Locking State: When the outer race rotates clockwise, the wedges lock, preventing the outer race from rotating.
- Functions
- Overrunning Clutch: When the output part (inner or outer race) of the one way clutch rotates faster than the power source (outer or inner race), the clutch is in a disengaged state, and there is no connection between the inner and outer races.
- Indexing Clutch: It can convert linear reciprocating motion into circular step motion of the rotating shaft.
- Backstopping Clutch: When used in material conveying equipment such as belt conveyors and bucket elevators, it prevents the equipment from reversing when there is no power source.

- Space Saving: With a radial dimension equal to that of a standard bearing, it is suitable for applications where space is limited.
- High Torque Capacity: The B205 can withstand a torque of 98 Nm, making it suitable for applications requiring high torque transmission.
- Wide Range of Applications: It is commonly used in packaging machines, bag making machines, corrugated paper production lines, speed reducers, elevators and other mechanical equipment.
- Installation Requirements
- Shaft Hardness: The shaft on which the clutch is mounted should have a hardness of HRC 56 - 60.
- Concentricity: The concentricity between the shaft and the outer race of the clutch should be maintained within 0.05 mm.
- Lubrication: It requires proper lubrication, and oil lubrication is preferred.
